Students and adults in our community are welcome to sign up for the summer session of college classes available from Central Community College. Full list of classes can be found at www.cccneb.edu. Adults may be able to register online. Our students will need to meet with Mrs. Lindgren and Father Wayne and fill out an early entry registration form to be mailed in.
There are three types of classes available. Learning center classes will have a packet mailed to Holy Family with your tests. Students would have to meet at our school to take tests with Mrs. Lindgren. Instructor Paced online classes have online assignments and tests. No paper exchanged. You can work through the class at any computer with internet access. Due dates are set by your instructor. Student Paced online classes are like the previous one, but no exact due dates. Good for very self motivated learners.
All three classes probably have a text book required. Textbook information is available on the class information link shown above. Books range from $20 used to $200 new. Many books are available to rent, but you need to return it at the end of the class or you are charged new price. The speech class has an online book license fee of over $100, but only read online and available for one semester.
I have books available for English Composition ENGL 1010 (Learning Center), College Algebra MATH 1150 (Learning Center), Intro to Psychology PSYC 1810 (Learning Center), Introduction to Visual Arts ARTS 101 (CWI01), American Government POLS 1000 (HWI01), and Personal Health PHED 1400.
Many classes require either an ACT test or Asset test to be taken before signing up. Mrs. Lindgren can administer the asset test for free at Holy Family, but needs 1 week notice to order the test and the test will take 3 hours.
